Anticipated Start and End Dates:  Fall 2022 with possible extension
Remote or In Person:
In Person Internship- 52 Chauncy St, Boston, MA 20111
Hours Per Week: 20 – 40 hours per week
Work Schedule: To Be Determined           
Pay Rate and Travel Stipend:  $18/hour and one-time $240 travel stipend
Internship Class: If chosen for the internship, you will take the three credit INT-299 Learn and Earn internship course during fall semester (you pay for the course but if an internship course is not part of your program, we can try to see if a required course can be replaced but this is not always possible).

Job Description
The Database Analyst/Programmer position (“position”) will be working with BHA’s MS SQL operational and data warehouse databases. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining extracts, transformations and loads into BHA’s data warehouse and/or reports. The position will work with the Information Systems team in providing data analytics to the MIS department’s various customers. Depending upon the candidate’s qualifications, the position will also work with the Information Systems team in developing web presentations of the Data in the form of web page presentations and reports.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
•            Develop and review the technical requirements for data ETL’s
•            Assist in the data warehouse storage strategies for the various data requirements of the BHA
•            Develop extract, translate, load (“ETL”) tasks on the operational and data warehouse databases
•            Develop data presentations based on the operational and data warehouse databases
•            Develop data maintenance applications as applicable
•            Assist the Data Analysts on the Information Systems team
•            Assist in various tasks as directed by the department’s Directors
 
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
•            Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and higher)
•            Experience in developing SQL Server objects
•            Experience in developing SQL code
•            Ability to speak and read English, does not have to be the primary language
•            Experience working with computers in a networked environment
o            knowledgeable of various components of a computer (i.e. computer, monitor, etc.)
o            have a basic understanding of a network
•            Experience working independently and with a team of other professionals
 
Additional Qualifications and Experience (optional)
•            Experience with data presentation platforms (i.e. Microsoft BI, Tableau)
•            Experience with Angular
•            Experience with Python
 
About the MIS Internship Program
The MIS Internship Program is designed around college’s and technical institute’s semesters. A potential candidate can hold an internship position for up to one year. A formal review will be done at the end of each semester. BHA will provide a college’s or institute’s internship documentation and requirements at that time. The internship program is a paid position at the BHA. A potential candidate can expect to learn various skills with regards to a large-scale, distributed-work-location MIS environment. The candidate can also expect to learn and build customer relationship management skills. Finally, the candidate can expect to gain experience and build proficiency in a computer technology field, both as an individual and as part of a team.
